Port Fairy to Warrnambool Rail Trail

The Port Fairy to Warrnambool Rail Trail is planned to be up and running by the end of 2009.

Jul - Dec 2007: Obtain regulatory approvals, consult with stakeholders, finalise project design & advertise work tenders
Jan - June 2008: Commence and complete works in the Port Fairy & Koroit township sections
Jan - Dec 2008: Commence works in the rural sections between Port Fairy & Koroit
Commence works in the Warrnambool City section
Jan – June 2009: Commence and complete works in the rural sections between Koroit & Illowa
Complete works in the rural sections between Port Fairy & Koroit Complete works in the Warrnambool City section
Jan – Oct 2009: Commence and complete works in the section between Illowa & Merri River
Nov – Dec 2009: Rail Trail fully constructed and opened

Covering 37 kilometres of scenic rural landscape, the rail trail passes through farmland in Port Fairy, Koroit, Illowa and Warrnambool and is designed to showcase the rural scenery of the region.

The rail trail will pass through Koroit at the old Railway Station. The Station's main building has been undergoing restoration the past few years. The Goods Shed restoration are yet to begin.

	32nd Port Fairy Folk Festival March 2009: The festival presents a unique line-up of International and National artists over the four day long week-end. We present folk roots, blues, jazz, bluegrass, celtic roots, jazz, crossroads country and rock, and music of the world. Add the Children's Folk Circus a Free Festival of the Streets, markets, buskers and a beautiful setting of hsitory, sun and sea.
	Moyneyana Festival 24th Dec, 2008 to 31st Jan, 2009: Summer Festival Fun in Port Fairy and in its 60th year. This year the theme “60 Years of Celebration” will be highlighted for the duration of the festival.
	Tarerer 2008 15th & 16th November 2008: Rhythms of Change' a celebration of Indigenous Culture featuring - Music, Dance, Film, Trade, Food, Art and Community.
	Port Fairy Spring Music Festival October, 2008: Each October, Port Fairy, the picturesque fishing village on the Shipwreck Coast of Western Victoria, comes alive for a weekend of exciting and magical music. Diverse and inventive programming produces a dynamic and entertaining event with something for everyone!
